World’s Most Expensive Black Diamond Dress

World’s Most Expensive Black Diamond Dress
By Debbie Wingham

Debbie Wingham, a celebrity dress designer from Amersham, UK has recently unveiled the world’s only black diamond dress at the Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo. The event took place on June 14, and all guests were mightily impressed by the glamorous gown worth a whopping 4,354,149 Euro ( £3.5 million approx. $5.5 million).
The incredibly expensive dress flaunts 50 two-carat diamonds: 25 on the shoulder shrug and 25 on the peplum. There is also a center piece of shimmering five-carat black diamonds, and a border of white diamonds inlaid with white gold.
All this, plus the material, adds up to quite an impressive weight for a nightgown: 13 kilograms (approx. 28.5 pounds). Wearing this dazzling black dress with grace must be quite a challenge for any lady! Completing the project took approximately six months of effort and impeccable handwork.
Debbie Wingham is currently working on an exclusive diamond jeans collection, but her career as haute couture designer is currently occupying a secondary position in her life, as she is now married and focused on being a good mother.

Chanel Paris-Bombay Metiers d’Art 2012 Bags Collection

Chanel Paris-Bombay Metiers d’Art 2012 Bags Collection no 1

The Bags and Accessories of Chanel Paris-Bombay Metiers d’Art 2012
Ever since the Chanel Paris-Bombay Metiers d’Art 2012 collection debuted on the runway nearly six months ago, I’ve been waiting impatiently for its bags and accessories to become available to the public.

The Indian-inspired line boasts some of the most detailed Chanel handbags in recent memory, along with lots of great leather pieces that can be used in virtually any season. Pre-fall collections have a reputation for wearability and versatility, and these bags have both qualities in spades without losing the Chanel twist that the brand’s fans covet.

The collection is heavy on Boy Chanel pieces, but not to the exclusion of the other Chanel bags you know and love – there are flap bags aplenty, in several styles and sizes. The highlights of the collection, though, are the ultra-embellished straps that adorn some of the Boy bags; most companies go straight for the body of a design when adding flowers or stones, and the use of a heavy embellished handle on top of a neutral bag feels fresh. Check out the full set of lookbook photos after the jump.

The Boy Chanel handbag campaign by Karl Lagerfeld

Those recent rumors that Alice Dellal would be the newest face of a Chanel campaign are true. Chanel just released an image of her shoot with Karl Lagerfeld to WWD.

You can only see half of Alice and half of the new Chanel Boy bag. (The only thing we can really glean about the bag is that…it’s quilted, which is slightly confusing, because the Boy bags are glazed leather and not quilted, but possibly this is a newer version? Anyway…) Alice is sitting on a chest of drawers dressed to the nines in girly, ruffled cream Chanel, complete with a side braid topped with a black ribbon–a stark contrast to her usual shaved-head-rock-n-roll-black-leather-jacket-wearing style.

Chanel reps told WWD:
[Karl Lagerfeld] had a crush on this unique, charismatic young lady, who is both a model and musician, during a photo shoot several months ago. This previously unforeseen alliance finally became self-evident. Alice Dellal represents the perfect incarnation of all that is unique about the Boy Chanel handbag collection, which strives [to be] far from conformist notions of femininity.”

The Boy name is significant for two reasons–first, to highlight that masculine-feminine vibe that Coco made famous. Second, Boy Capel was the love of Coco’s life, helped finance her atelier, and was also her muse. According to Lilogi, Boy’s style directly influenced Chanel’s menswear direction. Which all means that Alice Dellal, with her rough edges, is sorta perfect for this campaign.

Gisele Bundchen for Vogue Brazil, July 2012 Cover

She's one of the most in-demand ladies on the planet, and Gisele Bundchen was selected to cover the July 2012 issue of Vogue Brazil magazine.

The 31-year-old supermodel looks picture perfect for the Patrick Demarchelier shot front page while wearing a red scarf as a top with a yellow scarf around her waist and polka dot pants from the special Louis Vuitton collection signed by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.

Also donning a necklace and bracelets from Virzi + De Luca, the colorful spread was put together during a shoot held earlier this month on June 6th in New York City.

Set to hit newsstands today (June 29), the Vogue Brazil cover issue comes as it's widely believed that Gisele is expecting her second child with NFL star husband Tom Brady - though the good looking couple have opted against addressing the baby chatter thus far.

Harper’s Bazaar Mexico July 2012, Shot by Kevin Sinclair

The Harper’s Bazaar Mexico July 2012 editorial is mystical for many reasons. First of all, it is shot in Vietnam at an exotic location known as the Fairy Stream in Mui Ne. Effectively setting the tone of the photo-shoot, the alabaster fashion itself is fit for a fairy queen while the makeup is subtly haunting, making the model appear to be a sorceress of some kind.

Once again shot by New York-based Guyanese photographer Kevin Sinclair, model Marcelina Sowa strikes imposing poses in the Harper’s Bazaar Mexico July 2012 editorial. Styled by Andrew Holden, he concentrated on a white and gold wardrobe featuring the likes of Alexander McQueen, Hermes, Donna Karan, Jason Wu, Giambattista Valli, Antonio Berardi, Prada, Moschono, Emporio Armani, Chanel and Etro.
